Wrap-up from our 2012 Ceremony honoring excellence throughout the 2011 year:
USTA Middle States honored its top tennis standouts from 2011 at its Annual Meeting and Awards Luncheon on Sunday, Feb. 26, 2012 at the ACE Conference Center in Lafayette Hill, Pa.
The award winners were chosen from the six districts of USTA MS: Allegheny Mountain (AMD), Central Pennsylvania (CPD), Delaware (DD), Eastern Pennsylvania (EPD), New Jersey (NJD) and the Philadelphia Area (PATD), for their contribution to the growth of tennis throughout the Section in 2011. The ceremony is held annually to acknowledge individuals and organizations who provide so much to the community through their efforts.
In addition to these industry leaders, the Section also honored its junior and adult tournament players who ended the year as No. 1 in Middle States in their respective age group and division.
The event recapped one of Middle States’ best years to date, as it achieved growth in nearly every area and was named Section of the Year by Racquet Sports Industry.

The annual Mangan Award is the honor award of USTA MS and was established by the family of Thomas J. Mangan to recognize individuals who have made significant contributions to the game of tennis and Middle States. In doing so, these individuals demonstrate unselfish devotion and a spirit of cooperation. Barbara, the wife of the late Thomas J.
