Coaching workshops are interactive, on-court training programs designed for tennis teachers and coaches working with players at the recreational level. The USTA wants to ensure that you receive the best on-court training available. The skills you learn at coaching workshops will help you grow the sport, increase demand for your instruction, and get more involved in the game.
The USTA offers two types of coaching workshops:
USTA Player Development Workshops - These workshops focus on the full continuum of junior player development from age 7 to 17. The goal of the workshop is to present the USTA Player Development Teaching and Coaching Philosophy in a practical and comprehensive manner, while highlighting the use of 10 and Under Tennis. USTA Player Development Workshops are open to all certified teaching and coaching professionals who coach and teach high performance players (7 years & older).
Recreational On-Court Training - The USTA offers two unique types of on-court training: Recreational Coach Workshops (RCW) and 10 and Under Tennis Workshops. These sessions prepare coaches, instructors and parents to give players an exceptional tennis experience and keep them coming back for more. RCW and 10 and Under Tennis Workshops are an excellent primer for new coaches, as well as a valuable refresher course for those with teaching experience who seek more current and effective methods. Past attendees include parents seeking the basics in organizing Jr. Team Tennis, park and recreation instructors, high school coaches and players seeking part-time coaching jobs.
