The USTA Middle States is set to honor the section’s best from the 2009 calendar year at its Awards Ceremony and Annual Meeting. The event, a brunch, will be held at noon on February 21, 2010, at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Princeton, N.J.

Honored at the annual ceremony will be the winners of USTA MS distinguished awards, the adult and junior athletes who finished No. 1 in the section in their respective age group and division, as well as select juniors honored for their sportsmanship and improvement.

We are pleased to also have Lucy Garvin, Chairman of the Board and President for the United States Tennis Association, in attendance at the banquet.  Garvin has been a member of the USTA Board of Directors for the past nine years. Prior to her appointment as President, she served one two-year term as First Vice President, two consecutive two-year terms as Vice President and one term as a Director at Large.

Garvin is the Chairman of the US Open and represents the USTA on the Grand Slam Committee. Garvin was recently elected to the International Tennis Federation Board of Directors and serves as a Vice President. She also serves as Chair of the Compensation Committee and of the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center Master Plan Study Group, and she is a member of the International Committee.
