Competition Training Centers

Competition Training Centers (CTCs) are designed to bring top players and coaches together to train during the year. CTC's offer low cost, high level training to the best players within a geographic area. The program is designed to help players achieve success in competitive tennis, and is not intended to replace any aspect of regular training but rather to add a new dimension to every participant's game. The Centers serve as a training site for some of the best 10 -14 year-old players within their respective local areas.

Selection to the Competition Training Centers is based on national rankings, sectional rankings and district rankings as well as coaches recommendations. The centers serve as a training site for 16-20 of the best players within an established geographic region divided by districts. The CTCs provide the players a chance to work on their games while receiving coaching tips.

The program will consist of on-court drills, match play in World Tennis Team format utilizing Dartfish, as well as off-court sports training in areas such as mental toughness, nutrition, and strength and conditioning. The program will also feature guest speakers who will offer their experience and advice in their areas of expertise. Also, you will become part of the USTA computer system of tracking talented young players, some of whom will be chosen for regional and national programs.

All coaches involved are required to pass the USTA Level I Sport Science Competency Test in order to participate in the program. The CTCs operate for a minimum of 45 hours over the course of the season which is usually during the school year from October to March.

Our goal is to develop a base of well-trained junior tennis players, who have strong fundamental skill, and love to compete.
