QuickStart Jr. Team Tennis

The goal of the QuickStart tennis format is to get kids playing as soon as possible -- and this includes friendly matches, team play, and tournaments.

Jr. Team Tennis is about turning an individual sport into a team sport. All you have to do is look around at other youth sports to see that kids love playing sports with their friends. Not only is it fun and social, it's also practical. Team practices keep kids learning, and team matches give them a place to apply the things they've learned. So while they're learning, they're also having a great time with their friends. Which means they'll keep coming back. The program lasts typically six to eight weeks and consists of weekly team practices and match play.

And since most kids love team sports, this new format is now part of the USTA Jr. Team Tennis (JTT) league. Kids will now have the opportunity to play with their friends while developing their skills.

Either way, it's easy and rewarding.

Scoring
The QuickStart Tennis format has a scoring system that is very simple. It helps kids understand the structure of the game and allows them to keep track of the competition as it unfolds. Conveniently, it also gives parents and players a start and finish time.

Kasey Connors coordinates JTT in USTA Middle States and is available to assist you with your new or expanding USTA Jr. Team Tennis program using the QuickStart format of play.  To help you get a new league started please contact Kasey at connors@ms.usta.com or 610-935-5000 ext. 231.
