The USTA is continuing to create resources and tools designed to make offering tennis in school or after school easy and enjoyable for organizers.
Organization Membership - We recommend that every school and school district register for USTA Organization Membership to receive access to equipment discounts, curriculum ideas and grants. Your school will also be eligible to receive grant members-only benefits that can help get you connected to the USTA.
Teacher In-Service Workshops - These workshops complement a teacher's large group management skills and demonstrate how to quickly transform a school or gym into a dynamic tennis-playing environment.
QuickStart Tennis - The QuickStart Tennis play format, part of Jr. Team Tennis, makes managing and engaging groups of children easier. It is an exciting new play format for learning tennis, designed to bring kids into the game by utilizing specialized equipment, shorter court dimensions and modified scoring, all tailored to age and size. Kids gain confidence and build better playing skills, and their successes keep them playing.
Coach Training Opportunities - The USTA offers specialized training for teachers, parents, volunteers and after-school program providers interested in offering tennis programs. No courts are required, and previous tennis experience is not necessary. Best of all, these workshops are available at no cost to your school.
-
Recreational Coach Workshops (RCW) - An interactive, on-court training program designed for tennis teachers and coaches working with players at the recreational level. The skills you will learn at USTA Recreational On-Court Training Workshops will help you grow the sport and increase demand for your instruction. With these goals in mind, the RCW prepares coaches, instructors and parents to give players an exceptional tennis experience. Taught by specially trained, certified teaching professionals, RCW sessions cover:
-
Teaching Large Groups
-
Games-Based Approach to Coaching
